    That notebook is a working notebook. For me, It makes sense. The prettier it is, the more my need for it look pretty & perfect kicks in. I like seeing this style of notebook as it helps me realize it doesn't need to be perfect. it just needs to work for the person using it. Plus, I love the idea of the last book mentioned, "Bone to Bone." I can't wait to hear more about it!

    Sounds simple. Basically: What they want, why they want it and why they can't just have it. And then a basic structure to give you a brief outline of your story. Something to show you if you have a complete plot or not going forward.

      Sorry. A couple more short books, but 3 novels 2 of which are free. I have them and will read soon. All I am saying is get more books on Kobo. I don't know how it works but they owe you

      I’m trying to make sure any self published book I put out is wide on all platforms. For the other books, my publisher sets those parameters. But yes, the goal would be to have everything on kobo. I’ve heard amazing things about the Clara color! I hope you love it! ❤️

    With this template, where do you recommend adding subplot(s)? (Great video by the way!)

    • @ANSageWrites
      @ANSageWrites 18 днів тому

      I would probably give them more page time between beat 8 and 9. Somewhere in that general part of the book. I usually give hints to subplots earlier, especially if they are romantic subplots, but I don't devote big scenes to them until after the sleuth's reasons to investigate and we get more traction in the main mystery. I have a much more detailed plotting structure in my latest book as well which might help even more.

  • @Yarwood123

    This is really helpful. Can I ask, if you’ve got one campaign, and one ad set with two ads using that ad set, do you need to double your campaign budget? If I was using £5 daily for one ad, do I need to double my budget because I’m using that budget over two ads? And can you run a couple of campaigns, for say different series without the ads competing?

    • @ANSageWrites
      @ANSageWrites 21 день тому

      I would start with a smaller budget no matter the as set amount. Then duplicate those instead of changing the budget. In my experience, that works best for longer running ads. I don’t think you’ll run into ad cannibalism for a long time. Once that starts to happen, you’ll see a dip in and can turn the ads off and build new ones for the same series.

    This was a really good review!! Thanks for this! I was undecided between the kobo and the kindle, I think I will go with the kobo. It feels like a better long term investment since it's colour and you can annotated it! I only read technical books, so underlining and side notes are defo a must!

    I’ve currently got the same Kindle PW and I’m very very tempted to go with the Kobo Libra Color due to its features (not just the color aspect). I’ve only got 81 Kindle ebooks so it shouldn’t be too hard to move over, however, I just don’t know what to do with KU as KU is a great option if I end up reading a lot, which I hope to eventually. Even reading one Ebook a month you get your $ worth with KU. So I’m really indecisive, not to mention at the moment I can’t justify owning 2 ereaders at the moment 😢 I just don’t do enough reading, hopefully I will one day and I’ll definitely be buying a Kobo in the future.

    • @ANSageWrites
      @ANSageWrites Місяць тому

    For the covers, I wish EC gave us an option to choose the font. Some covers have a more basic font. They seem to like picking which font will go with which cover and we are stuck with it. If they gave us an option to pick, I might actually use that feature, but mostly I don’t customize it.

    I LOVE typing! I took a secretarial course in a business school (yes, that long ago - 1965) and could type 130 words a minute WITHOUT errors! LOL! I eventually joined the USAF but after having a few typing jobs, I did NOT tell them I could even type! I've had several typewriters but after we had computers, I got rid of the typewriters. I missed my typing and finally found a little portable electric typewriter at a thrift store for $5.00 USD! What I love about a real typewriter is the noise of the keys, and, at the end of a line, the bell dings and I then hit the carriage return and throw the carriage back to the beginning of the next line. It is odd how just having the two sheets of paper twisted around the platten and no thought of what to say, beyond the old, Every good boy does fine and Now is the time for every good men to come to the aid of his country. In a few lines, I am coming up with interesting things that would not have occurred with my computer!

    • @ANSageWrites
      @ANSageWrites Місяць тому

      Oh wow! 140 a minute is so amazing! I cannot type nearly as fast. Nor without errors. Haha! I’m on the hunt for an electric typewriter too and this was super encouraging to make me get one. Thank you for watching!❤️

    I just pre ordered your new book. I have read all your cozy mysteries. I am an author myself and I am delving into the world of paranormal women's fiction. I can hardly wait to buy your book on writing cozy mysteries as that's where I'm headed. I have 11 books published, but I'm sick of writing the various genres including Amish Romance. I skip all over the genres. Anyhooooo...I'm so excited for your nonfiction book. Love your work!

    I have been trying to get through "What the River Knows", for like three months, in my spare time. It lives on my bed because I feel guilty for not finishing it. Lol. The physical book, I mean. I am a Book of the Month Club member, but I also have a Paperwhite. I am an Ex-Googler and I come from the tech, writing, and design world, so I am very interested in this comparison. Also, your books are right up my alley, and I had never heard of you before this video. Lol.

      ooooh you should try it on an ebook. I really liked it so it’s worth starting. If you get the kobo, I’d love to know how you feel about it! And nice to meet you on here 🥰

    Thanks ANSage! Very helpful video. How would you approach the three ad sets for a book which teaches kids how to grow vegetables in pots - it gives them instructions, tracking sheets, weekly/daily diary, coloring pages, stories and crafts to do?

      Hi! Thank you for watching. I haven’t published any children’s books but I don’t think I’d do anything differently for those. You could narrow it down to just authors and interests for only two tests. And keep the parents in mind since they’ll be the ones buying.

    I love the Kobo Color! It's a beautiful experience. I have the Kindle Scribe and I believe Amazon really missed the mark on that one. The Scribe is definitely a nice device, but it's the one I turn to the least because of the large size and the limited use of the stylus. In contrast, with the Kobo, I can annotate a book the way I would if I were reading an actual paperback or hardback.

      @ANSageWrites 2 місяці тому

      This is exactly how I feel too. The kobo is the right size for me and the color annotation is honestly amazing. I love it

    • @Nikkilodean19
      @Nikkilodean19 Місяць тому

      I also dislike that you can’t annotate on the page on the Scribe. Amazon should have made the Oasis or an Oasis size as their “Scribe” or even 8” instead of 7”.
